Meet some of our team.
Originating from a naval and commercial shipping background in engineering, he gained qualifications as a Class 1 Engineer and as an Electrical engineer, sailing for many years on Panamax containerships on the round world service to and from Europe. This combined experience has prepared him well as the luxury yacht size became larger.
Mark came ashore and worked in the early robotics industry but after a five year period, the call of the sea and the people associated with it, brought Mark back to the waterfront where he joined Whiting Powers Systems (WPS) in 1993. He spent the 10 years with WPS mainly on Superyacht Refit Projects which numbered into the many 100s. This included the period of the two America’s Cup campaigns held in Auckland which more than tested the industry’s ability to respond to large influxes of visiting yachts. This became the catalyst for Mark and the fellow founders of IMG to develop a highly professional team to raise the standards of service for this sector of the industry. In August 2004 Mark was elected to NZ Marine Export Group Board and was the Chairman 2008 -2010.
Mark is Managing Director of both, Shipco 360 and Integrated Marine Group as is a firm believer in developing strong and enduring client relationships. He is certainly refreshed to be once again involved with his commercial marine roots and enjoys the new challenges it presents.
